The Problem

Between 2021 and 2022, climate tech became the new gold rush in Silicon Valley. Everyone wanted in—but few could answer the hard questions:

  • Why now? Why here?

  • Which emerging technologies actually mattered?

  • Could they really move the needle on global warming, or were we watching another hype cycle?

European executives visiting Silicon Valley were eager to understand whether this was genuine innovation or investor theater.

The Solution

I mapped where policy, capital, and technology overlapped: tracking venture flows, new funding mechanisms, and emerging use cases across energy, carbon removal, and industrial tech. I benchmarked U.S. momentum against European leadership in cleantech, highlighting where Silicon Valley was catching up and where it was starting to leap ahead.

The Outcome

The analysis became the foundation for briefings with politicians, including the Swiss Federal President, as well as dozens of European executives across energy, manufacturing, and finance. It helped them identify which opportunities were worth backing and which were noise, turning a vague “climate tech boom” into a clear, data-backed investment landscape.
